We are disappointed to share that the Saint Helena City Council has voted not to approve the 2025 St. Helena Porchfest. While this is not the outcome we had hoped for, we respect the City’s decision and appreciate the opportunity.
The Napa Valley Music Alliance, the nonprofit organizing body behind St. Helena Porchfest, remains dedicated to fostering a vibrant local music culture. As stated in our bylaws, our purpose is to “support the performance and appreciation of live music throughout Napa County by producing inclusive, community-based events.”
St. Helena Porchfest was envisioned as a celebration of music, local porches, neighborhood pride, and unity — modeled after the highly successful national Porchfest movement. The event was thoughtfully designed with the input of neighbors and city staff to prioritize safety, cleanliness, and community engagement.
“Porchfest has never been just about music — it’s about neighbors connecting, supporting local artists, enjoying the beauty of our communities, and creating a shared sense of belonging,” said Rachael Clark, one of the event organizers.
Organizer Alex Weeks states: “The support we have received shows the need for more events to showcase the amazing musicians that call the Napa Valley home”.
A very special thank you goes to the St. Helena Department of Parks and Recreation and Director Dave Jahns for their dedication and hard work throughout the planning process. Their commitment to community programming and the arts has been nothing short of extraordinary.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to the City of St. Helena for their consideration, and to the St. Helena Fire Department and Police Department for their support and guidance in helping us design a safe and responsible event. Their collaboration was invaluable.
To all the incredible local musicians who signed up to perform, our enthusiastic supporters, and our generous sponsors — thank you. Your passion and belief in this event gave it life, and your continued support inspires us to keep moving forward.
Although we won’t be gathering in 2025, we are already looking ahead to the future. The Napa Valley Music Alliance is actively working with local parks and recreation departments, nonprofit leaders, and civic partners to create a consortium to organize local music events.
